Inspired by....

Anna Dello Russo

This woman is on fire. She has worked with all the best photographer in the world. Of course, how could she not since her resume reads like dream jobs one after the other after the other first Dello Russo spent 25 years working under the radar as a fashion editor at Italian Vogue , then as editor of L'Uomo Vogue . In 2006 she moved to Japanese Vogue where she still holds court( and the italics will not go away- weird).
On top of that she has dealt with clotheless David Beckham and Brad Pitt, right there she has the dream job if you didn't think so before.

ADR=OTT  Love her!!!!!

And all this comes because I found some images from Vogue Nippon's March 2011 which I had planned to publish but I changed computers. So here you go. More on Anna Dello Russo later...

Current Obsessions

I don't know when these pics were taken, if this month or three years ago, or for what publication but I love all things exotic and bohemian, and these images capture that with a little bit of love for Missonithrown in. But alas, the pieces are not Missoni....or are they?

Fashion Inspiration

I just stumbled upon this here blog since I just come across a bit of street style, while browsing the web,  left and right.  It was styled by Javier Scally and it  just feels so much like m.i.a. to me;  I just love it!!!
Specially the sharp-shouldered blue top.

Inspired by.....

Charlotte Russe was the inspiration behind this let's-go-crazy-shopping-just-to-play-with-it-and-return-it-a-few-days-later-challenge. During my years as a stylist for the local paper I have had my fare share of shopping, borrowing, hassling and whatever was needed to get the shot. So to me is no hardship to go to the local runway inspired chain-store and see what, if any, inspires me to actually forgo the return receipt and keep it. Better economics would let me keep much more but hey the harder the obstacles the better the challenge.

All clothing is from Charlotte Russe S/S 10, all accesories, inlcuding shoes, are from my own collection or from my sister who's pad served as location for this mini-shoot. Leather jkt is an oldie from the UK, sunglasses are Roberto Cavalli, earrings with red leggings are Erika Pena and earrings with liquid leggings are Mariela Cobian.
I guess I should add that at the end of it all I didn't keep much. Just the black-back-zipped-top which I found out it's Alexander Wang F/W09 inspired, and since I saw the top ON SALE for @$250 I, couldn't resist the @$15 price tag. I also kept (little embarrassment)the red leggings, which I would've never in a million years, but hey they are Kitson and just under $5. Let see how they find their way into my wardrobe in the next season (doubtful). That's why my profile name is Shopaholic on a Mission, I am G-U-I-L-T-Y as charged. I really should've kept the People's Liberation red, wht and blk top but I have a zillion tops so whatever! Next!
