It is unclear to most if this incident was videotaped by the couple's friend or if this was a different incident all together but Galliano was dressed differently on the video than from the following pic at the police department. And you know he wouldn't be caught dead wearing the same outfit to the same bar within a year at least. From watching this video you can make up your mind about what is in his head, after a few drinks at least.
But like everything, there are three sides to a story, the plaintiff's, the accused and the truth. So having read further myself you can go ahead and click here to read an eyewitness account of the evening where in short Galliano was called ugly first when the couple though he was a bum, since they don't know what's fashionable and what's not, and then the insults started flying back and forth from the face of the woman to her bag. Galliano was definitely out of line taking the insults further to insult a whole race of people and show his love for an ignorant, crazy-man like Hitler. Which had him end up the Parisian evening in the service de police. One can only guess that even if the police don't find cause against him for imprisonment, karma has already worked it's magic and therefore Galliano will now join the millions of unemployed.

It is being said that the House of Christian Dior has wanted him out for some time due to his alcoholism and bigotry. Galliano's last collection Fall 2011 will go ahead on schedule this friday March 4th and his own signature collection, funded as well by LVMH, on March 6th in Paris.
What remains to be seen now is if editors and buyers be a no-show? Who would these Jewish buyers be you ask? "Daria Retain, fashion director of Neiman Marcus; Ellin Saltzman, director of fashion and product development at Saks Fifth Avenue; James Fowler and Mary Talbot, vice-president and design buyer of Jacobsons Stores, Michigan; Kaye von Bergen, designer buyer of Bendel's; Lois Ziegler and Sue Bicksler, fashion directors of J.C. Penney; Bernie Ozer, vice-president of the Associated Merchandising Corporation; Barbara Weiser of Charivari; Barbara Warner, formerly of Barneys, who virtually single-handedly turned the store into an upbeat designer terminus; Lynne Manulis, president of Marthas; Joan Weinstein, president of Ultimo; James Sullivan, fashion director of Jordan Marsh; Missy Lomonaco, fashion director of Bonwit Teller; Betty Hahn, designer buyer of Garfinkels, Washington; Jean Navin, vice-president and fashion director of Lord & Taylor; Kal Ruttenstein, vice-president and fashion director of Bloomingdales; Terry Melville, fashion director of Macy's; and Sal Ruggerio of Marshall Field, Chicago." [COLERIDGE, p. 259] Excerpt from here.
And what would all his Jewish peers make of this? Like Zac Posen, Sonia Rykiel, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Isaac Mizrahi, Kenneth Cole, but most importantly Alber Elbaz from Lanvin who is one of the two most likely to suceed Galliano at Dior, the other being Riccardo Tisci (whos is not Jewish) who's being designing over at Givenchy since 2006.
Only time will tell. We'll keep you posted after the shows.
Regarding Natalie Portman and her endorsement of Miss Dior, she is apalled by Galliano's actions and want nothing to do with him, to say the least. To make matters worse for their relationship, to all those who are not aware, Ms. Portman is Jewish.
